NDSM CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP

NDSM children's workshop is an initiative of artists on the NDSM shipyard in collaboration with foundation NDSM. By the design of the children's workshop, we work from the opportunities of the former shipyard. Water, wind, space; ships and the history of the place, inspire and provide a unique basis for visual workshops.

Together with the children we work from a theme. Within the structure of a studio in the large warehouse we encourage children's own initiative. There is a lot of residual material from the workshops we use, such as concrete, wood, textiles, cardboard and bicycle tires.

Exploring shapes and the various ways in which children turn their idea into view, are the basic activities. In that process the design, implementation, testing and presenting are discussed.
